Hello! My name is Miss Kerry and I will be visiting the United States throughout the year. I live in Australia and do not
know about the weather in Pennsylvania. I would appreciate it if you all could tell me about the different types of weather
that you've experienced in school. I hope to hear from you soon!!
TASK:
Your mission is to help Ms. Kerry learn about the five basic types of weather found in our area. Each student will design
his or her own weather journal. In your journal, you will research the types of weather and draw pictures of each. You will
create a decorative cover and update the journal every day depending on the weather outside of our classroom. At the end of
each season, you will write a letter to Miss Kerry telling her about all of the different types of weather you learned about.
PROCESS:
Below you will find the five different types of weather. Here are the steps to complete this project...
1. Create Journal with cover.
2. Record the weather each day.
3. Describe what you see outside the window of the classroom.
4. Draw a picture of what you observed.
5. Write down the types of clothing people are wearing because of the weather.
6. Record the date in your journal.
7. Write a letter to Miss Kerry telling her what types of weather to expect.
8. Also in the letter, include what kind of clothing she should pack in her suitcase.
